In the midst of devastation and destruction, the Our AIM Foundation is stepping up to help the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
Our AIM Foundation is a nonprofit organization that has dedicated itself to providing life-saving resources to poverty-stricken communities around the world. Recently, the foundation has been actively working to provide aid to the victims of earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a series of earthquakes struck Turkey and Syria in recent years. In 2022, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit western Turkey on August 17, causing widespread damage and casualties. Another earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 struck eastern Turkey on November 15, 2022. Additionally, on February 25, 2023, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit the Syrian capital of Damascus, resulting in multiple casualties and significant damage.
In response to these disasters, Our AIM Foundation has been working tirelessly to provide much-needed aid to the affected communities. The foundation has been working closely with local partners and organizations to deliver supplies to those in need.
The on-ground volunteers sent 10,000+ water bottles, hundreds of rice bags, flour, diapers, baby food, and other essential items on a truck traveling from Istanbul to Kahramanmaras. The foundation has also been working to provide shelter to those who have lost their homes as a result of the earthquakes.
It is impossible to put into words the gratitude and appreciation that Our AIM Foundation has for its volunteers, staff, and partners. They work closely with Turkish Airlines and the Turkish Consulate in Miami to ensure the necessary supplies are reaching the local communities. The Consulate has been valuable in sharing the needs of the local community as well. For example, the Consulate shared rescue teams and the Turkish government is facing challenges with dead bodies. So, Our AIM has collected and sent 3000+ body bags to aid in keeping respect and dignity for the deceased. In addition to these efforts, Our AIM Foundation’s volunteers are also working to organize a medical mission trip with a group of doctors to visit the victims who may need additional medical assistance.
